NICK VISCONTI JOINS THE SIERRA-AT-TAHOE® RESORT FAMILY OF RIDERS
One of the industry’s rising athletes and personalities officially calls Sierra™ Resort home
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – December 18, 2010 - Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort is proud to announce Nick Visconti as the latest addition to the Professional Athlete Team. Visconti is a native Northern Californian that took his first turns on a snowboard at Sierra Resort in 1999. Growing up, Nick remembers sunny drives from The Bay Area to visit the deep snow bases at Sierra Resort, “Sierra-at-Tahoe was the catalyst that fueled my desire to pursue snowboard culture as a lifestyle.”
“One of my best childhood memories is driving up to Sierra Resort with my mom. Driving up for day trips from the Bay Area or weekend trips to South Lake, we would always stop at Carrows restaurant in Placerville; Carrows meant snowboarding was on! Sierra hosted my first turns as a grom, and now I will return the love and extend passion and inspiration to young shredders, weekend warriors and Lake Tahoe’s core snowboard community. It is only befitting to represent a resort that I truly love and believe in- I am stoked to share my heart for family and snowboarding through Sierra-at-Tahoe.”
Visconti’s career is taking off with regular editorial coverage in Snowboarder Magazine, TransWorld SNOWboarding, Snowboard Magazine and ESPN.com. Visconti also landed the opening part of Think Thank Production’s 2010 movie “Right Brain, Left Brain”. On the competitive front, Visconti has placed first at national and international rail jams including Hot Dawgs and Hand Rails, Nike 6.0’s The Farm and the Downtown Throwdown.
Visconti’s efforts beyond his traditional career highlights make him more than snowboarding’s next hot ticket. He’s an articulate student, brand ambassador and interactive snowboarding sensation. Visconti takes advantage of new media to share his passion for the sport and the culture. In partnership with his riding buddies, Visconti has created the snowboarding video website internationally known as Tahoe Dangerzone. In just its second season, Tahoe Dangerzone attracted over 500,000 full video views. Visconti plans to take advantage of this new snowboard media in reaching more kids and represent positivity through the sport.
Back home at Sierra Resort, Visconti’s passion will drive creativity in the terrain parks as he works on features and flow design with the Park Crew, hosts a contest for the Northern California snowboard community and films for Tahoe Dangerzone and the in-production ThinkThank video.
